After your guided tour is finished, visit the historical exhibition, which has three parts: exploring the day of 9/11, before 9/11 and after 9/11. It tells the story of what happened on 9/11, including the events at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and the story of Flight 93. The exhibition explores the background leading up to the events and examines their aftermath and continuing implications. There are also three films featured in the auditorium, museum pavilion L-2 level.

Please REMEMBER once outside there is no re-entry into the museum, so it should be the last thing you view. You will meet your hostess and board the bus for the ride back home. Rhode Island Flower Show & The Breakers Mansion
Location: Newport, RI Price: $90.00
Date(s): 06/19/2021 Time:
June 19, 2021 (Saturday)

This year’s theme is “Voices in the Garden”! New England's Premier Flower Show! Voices are like fingerprints. Each has a unique register and leaves an indelible signature. A garden is the reflection of the gardener's voice. Whether that voice echoes the strength in mighty trees, the romance of fragrant flowers, or the laughter of bubbling water, all are still heard in great gardens. Celebrate the voices of great American gardeners! Enjoy lunch on your own at flower show.

After spending some time at the flower show we will head over to The Breakers Mansion, the summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, Newport’s ultimate “summer cottage”. The Breakers mansion is the crown jewel of Newport Rhode Island mansions. Built in just two years at a cost of over 7 million dollars (equivalent to over $150 million today), there are 70 rooms in the mansion (33 for the help) and sits on 13-acre on the east side of Aquidneck Island. The Breakers mansion was given its name for the waves that continually crash into the cliffs below. Cornelius Vanderbilt II's great-grandchildren still live on the third floor of the mansion (closed to visitors) during the summer.

Hampton Beach, Kittery Outlets or York Beach! -You Pick-
Location: Hampton Beach, NH Price: $44.00
Date(s): 08/21/2021 Time:
August 21, 2021 (Saturday)

Enjoy the beach or go shopping for the day! Our stops are Hampton Beach, the Kittery Outlets, and York Beach. You get off where you want…that’s right you pick what location you want and spend the day there at that location!!

Hampton Beach, located in New Hampshire is easily the busiest beach in the state and where all the action is. The Atlantic Ocean is the main attraction with its clean water, miles of sandy beach and spruced up bathhouses. But there is so much more to do with a stroll along Ocean Avenue, where arcades, T-shirt stands, and souvenir shops elbow for space with fast-food joints, fried-dough vendors, and candy shops. So much to do, where to begin.

Our next stop with being over a mile long, the Kittery Outlets has over 120 popular brand name outlet stores and of course the famous Kittery Trading Post. Think of it as New England’s Fashion District, featuring the latest and greatest in women’s and men’s apparel, children’s wear, active wear, lingerie, sporting goods, shoes, fashion accessories, home furnishings, housewares, and specialty items.

Finally, we arrive in York Beach at Short Sands Beach, a small beach with calm waters. Take time to visit The Goldenrod, part restaurant, part ice cream parlor, part candy store, complete with huge taffy-stretching machine in the front window that the kids will love watching. They are famous for their saltwater taffy. Definitely pick up a box to take home for a souvenir.

After the day ends, we will head back home. Trip goes rain or shine!

Drop-off & Pick-up Times:

Newport Mansions at Christmas Time
Location: Newport, RI Price: $79.00
Date(s): 12/04/2021 Time:
December 4, 2021 (Saturday)
Our first stop is The Elms, the summer retreat of coal magnate Edward Berwind and his wife Herminie. In 1898, the Berwinds engaged Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer to design a house modeled after the mid-18th century French chateau d'Asnieres outside Paris. The Elms was a thoroughly “modern” house in 1901. So technologically advanced for its time it appeared to work “as if by magic,” it also houses monumental art works, including wall-sized Venetian paintings, Chinese lacquer panels and tapestries.

Then be dropped off downtown to walk the waterfront and have lunch on your own. Then meet back and take Newport's Ten Mile Drive that combines that history of a wealthy summer community with a fabulous Newport recreational treasure of public parks and miles of public access shoreline to rank as one of the most popular "drives" in the country. The "Drive" is way more than what you can see in a short and hurried 35-minute bus trip over the route. Many of the home owners seek a quiet summer and have gone to great lengths to insure their tranquil settings. Closed gates are very common and trees are strategically allowed to grow in ways that enhance resident privacy.

We end with The Breakers Mansion; a 70-room mansion that has approximately 65,000 sq. ft. of living space. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America.
